Al igual que la chill wave, el glo-fi o el pop de reflejo hipnagógico en sus distintas filtraciones de género, la efervescencia garagera y la permeabilidad fructífera de sus confines hacia el noise, el dreampop o el punk; y lo mismo que las declinaciones del synthpop, la new wave y la cold wave, la protoelectrónica o las manifestaciones industriales nos hablan de los intereses estéticos que en la música suponen una vuelta a sonidos del pasado con un horizonte claro hacia el futuro; hay un anverso fantasmal que crece en las sombras y en los recodos nebulosos de las inquietudes melómanas de distintas partes del globo y que coincide con la emergencia (en varias voces) de un movimiento concreto. A un ritmo constante, lento, pero implacable, hordas de zombis, paganos, visiones imprecisas, ungidos del maligno, espectros desubicados, fantasmas de catenaria arrastrada, almas perdidas y efigies encapuchadas, van definiendo sus contornos desdibujados según se aproximan y se nos aparecen de entre sus tinieblas como parte de un fenómeno musical en ciernes. Son los llamados a ceremonias oscuras en torno a un nuevo culto musical al que con agua negra se bautiza como Witch House, aunque salpique otras acepciones como Drag, Ghost Drone, Gothic Chillwave, Darkwave, Haunted Disco, marcos definitorios de una nueva expresión musical que, sin embargo, ya lleva unos cuantos años practicándose en un activo silencio. Bienvenidos a esta casa de brujas.

The thing will go on in the brandest newest venue London has to offer - The Nest in Stoke Newington (alright.. it’s in the same location where legendary underground music venue Bardens Boudoir used to be. So basically it’s Bardens, but refurbished!).
