This episode starts off with “Peaceful Snow” off of the album of the same name by Death In June. I start this show this way because of all the snow the Northeast of the U.S. has gotten over this past month. It’s snowing a lot. It’s coming again tomorrow in fact. For further delving into the world of DIJ I suggest this as viewing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc7_g3I9VDo
We move on to US Christmas (USX). Their latest continues on their heavy psychedelic journey into space.
We move onto the even more disaffected pop sounds (the witch house sounds) of Fostercare and White Ring as found on the Disaro/Robot Elephant “Isvolt” compilation.
Godfathers of dubstep, Digital Mystikz, bring us our penultimate track and it’s off of a seminal split 12” with the Moritz Von Oswald Trio on Honest Jon’s Records.
And our final track is by a repeat visitor to Nothing Under The Sun. It’s off the latest by Gatekeeper, “Giza.”
Doc Nachtstrom is a kind of nocturnal figurehead in the otherwise rather sleepily dainted Graz in Styia / Austria.
He runs the blog The Sweetest Noise , dedicated to all things obscure and dark Electronica, who have been already really sweet to us, and he co-hosts a radio show on ORF FM4 - the Austrian version of BBC6 or WNPR called the House of Pain.
On Wednesday he ran a big 2 hour feature on Witch House, featuring an interview with Salem, lots of amazing tunes and ISVOLT in it’s entirety, including a quote by myself *gulp*..
