Already got plans for the Bank Holiday Sunday early evening? Why not spending it in the splendid caverns of The Nest in Stoke Newington.
At least I will be there, manning the DJ Decks from 7pm onwards. Blue on Blue will be playing around 7:30 bringing their deconstructed pop songs to the crowds, followed by the grandious Radiohead-approved minimal synth krautrockers Rocketnumbernine around 8:30.
After the 2 bands there is a huge line-up of DJs - for instance one of my farourites at the moment, Nightwave who hails from Serbia (following the general theme on these pages of championing Eastern European electronic artists…), as well as MC Cole, Wookie, T. Williams and Elijah & Skilliam.
Last time I saw RN9, there was actually a minor Radiohead member in the crowd - so why not come to do some indie celeb spotting as well?

Some remotely RER related thing happening this Friday - the UK debut show of UNISON!
UNISON are one of the best bands out there that ever graced the “Witch House” label. They are actually a proper band, and have been touring up and down France and Europe in the past. Releasing their debut long player earlier this year, it’s now finally time to get them playing in London!
Support comes from London’s very own noise pop duo and RER favourites Blue on Blue - who recently released their critically acclaimed debut EP on Tip Top Records.
Upcoming gig, 19th of October 2010: The lovely people of Hi, Honey! put on the Robot Elephant / ISVOLT collaborators White Ring & Robert Disaro - which is making us totally giddy already - together with Manchesters very own D/R/U/G/S! Completing the lineup are C Powers DJ and Hi, Honey DJs!
The thing will go on in the brandest newest venue London has to offer - The Nest in Stoke Newington (alright.. it’s in the same location where legendary underground music venue Bardens Boudoir used to be. So basically it’s Bardens, but refurbished!).
